voila g installer knoppix sur mon hdd,tout marche bien,sauf que je peu pas installer mon modem speedtouch,g checher une solution sur le net mais negatif, ca marche pas, je coire que le vpi vci ne sont pas valide qlq 1 a une idee?

wi moi jé une idéé enfin jlé tésté é ça marche sur tous lé systemes Linux é dérivé (jlé tésté sur Debian )

je suis pas un expert linux,ALORS EXPLIQUE STP

Menara offre des modem Alcatel Speedtouch Rev 4 (Silver), je suppose que vous avez deja le support usb avec votre noyau (le cas des nouvelles distributions) et que les packages ppp et bc sont deja installé, si ce n'est pas le cas vous pouvez les installer a partir des cds de votre distributions

la 1ere chose a faire est de trouver le microcode du modem (c-à-d le programme chargé dans le modem lors de son initialisation et responsable de son fonctionnement), pour cela allez au repertoire d installation de votre modem sous windowz, pour mon cas C:\Program Files\Thomson\SpeedTouch USB\

ensuite le dossier

Bin\SACHU3

récupérer les fichiers ZZZLP1.eni (le loader) et ZZZLP2.eni (le microcode)

télécharger speedtouchconf.tar.gz, c un outils de configuration automatique, puisque notre but est de se connecter au net et pas de casser notre tete ;)

Concaténez le microcode avec le loader:
$cat ZZZLP1.eni ZZZLP2.eni > mgmt.o

$tar zxvf speedtouchconf-19-06-2004.tar.gz
$cd speedtouchconf-19-06-2004

Copiez le microcode dans le rép courant

$cp /chemin_du_microcode/mgmt.o .

Lancez le script magique en étant root

$su
password:
#./speedtouchconf.sh

Les VCI/VPI d'IAM sont : 8 35

Le script se charge de tout, vous etes connecté !


Vlà, plus simpe que ça ya pas (C-A-D) : si t'arrive tjr pas a comprendre OUBLIE Knoppix é va voir ailleur

Bien vu WaVeR mé moi jé doné le truc pour que ça marche sous nimporte kel distrubution Linux ke ça soit Debian,Mandrake ou bien Fedora...

Normalement, il faut utilisé les paquages pour chaque distribution =)
Mon exemple concerne Knoppix, Debian, Ubuntu et d'autres distri basé sur Debian. Sinon normalement chaque distri a ses paquets, on compile quand on est sur que ce qu'on cherche on ne l'a pas disponible dans nos paquets.

Si tu veux gardé une stabilité, efficacité de ton système évite de faire des compilations de ce genre =), sûrement tu te demandes pourquoi? Pour la simple raison qu'avec les paquets t'es assurés d'avoir un suivi lors des MAJ, c-a-d si demain on trouve un bug ton système ce mettra à jour. Par contre si tu veux compilé un truc sur ta machine ce qui est faisable, je te conseil de te joindre à la mailing list du développeur du programme afin de suivre les différents alertes de bug/sécurité.
